Paul Lienert, Managing Director
We launched Lienert & Co. in 1984 with a vision: To share my deep experience, global network and data-driven insights with carmakers, suppliers, tech companies and investors aiming to win in a business undergoing seismic change.

My secret weapon: Felixwire, a proprietary database of more than 10,000 companies in 130+ countries comprising the still-growing future transportation ecosystem. An outgrowth of my 2012 doctoral dissertation on venture funding of electric vehicles, Felixwire identifies and tracks patterns and trends, providing direction and opportunities in future mobility technology, investment and partnerships.
Throughout my career as an award-winning writer, researcher, analyst and consultant, I’ve helped companies across the world to build successful strategies:
· Advised the founder of China’s Geely Auto on the acquisition of Volvo Cars from Ford Motor
· Counseled the founder and key lieutenants of China’s BYD Auto on the company’s “greentech” strategy
· Worked closely with top executives of South Korea’s Hyundai Motor on the creation and development of the Genesis luxury brand
As a bureau chief, team leader and senior correspondent with Reuters over the past decade, I’ve honed my knowledge across the global transportation spectrum. I’ve researched and written exclusive and widely read stories about the fast-paced developments in electric, autonomous and connected vehicles, batteries, raw materials and infrastructure.
In case you were wondering, I named my database after our grandson Felix, a reminder that everything we do in future transportation should be aimed at protecting the planet for current and future generations.
